TimeClient v1.0.0.8 - Readme.txt
----------------------------------------------------------------------

TimeClient is the workstation side application of an Internet Caf management system. It gives the operator full control over the workstation, provided the password was entered correctly. It shuts the screen and disable the keyboard and system keys when deactivated. While active, it displays a little timer on the workstation screen to enable the user to keep track of the online time left. It uses TCP/IP to communicate. It has password security and an operator panel to enable the operator to bypass the program should a server breakdown occur. The server and client can operate independantly in case of a unforseen error on one or both. In order for the program to function properly, the server side also needs to be downloaded from the same FTP site (TimeServer.zip - 1,735 kb).

Known bugs:
The only problems with TimeServer is:
While a DOS program like a game such as Quake runs, TimeServer's workstation side still works in the background, but it does not show you the time on the screen. The reason for this is that DOS tends to take over the PC's processor. Once the program de-activates the screen, it does not always show. Once you terminate the DOS program, you will see that TimeServer is still running. Sometimes it does not de-activate the whole screen. Simply reset it again on the server side. It should be fine then. So much for DOS.

Installation instructions:
1. Extract the TimeClient.zip file to a temporary directory.
2. Double-click the Setup.exe file to start the installation.
3. Install to a directory of your choice on the WORKSTATION machine.
4. Once the installation completed, run the program.
5. The Operator Panel will open up. Click on OK to enable all the features. The password is blank initially.
6. Fill in the server's IP address (for help refer to the help file on the server)
7. If you choose to make use of the policy editor features, you will have to restart the computer
once you updated the policy editor.
8. To get to the Operator Panel once the program locks the workstation, press Alt+F8 and enter your password (if any).
9. PLEASE NOTE that the initial password is a blank. You can set the password at the server on
    the Opions menu.
10. PLEASE NOTE that the term "client" refers to a workstation, as in client - server.
11. To synchronize the time on the server to the workstations, have a look at the helpfile under "synchronizing time".

Special requirements:
TCP/IP has to be installed on both the server and the workstation machines.
