(1)Last Minute Changes/Amendments to the Video VoxPhone Gold 2.0 User's Guide

1.1 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Addition -- When I load Video VoxPhone
GOLD 2.0 all I see is a blank screen, then the program exits -- why?

This occurs when Video VoxPhone GOLD 2.0 cannot detect an Internet connection
device. In order to use Video VoxPhone GOLD 2.0, you *must* have access to the
Internet, either through a network or a dial-up connection. Windows connects your
computer to the Internet through a device driver. If Video VoxPhone GOLD 2.0 can't
find the device driver which you are connecting to the Internet through, then it
exits the program. This means your're connection to the Internet is not
configured correctly, or not installed at all.

For instructions on correctly installing and connecting your computer to the
Internet, please consult your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or your System
    Administrator.

(4)How to Load the Electronic User's Guide

Your E-Tech software comes with an electronic manual, which describes in detail
how to install, configure and use the program.

The electronic User's Guide is in Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF), which
allows you to easily click on an item from the table of contents and instantly
be taken to the corresponding page.

We've included the Adobe PDF Reader in the Viewers directory on the CD-ROM, so
that you can read the User's Guide. If you already have the PDF reader (version
4.05 or better) installed on your system, simply clicking on the User's Guide.pdf
file on the CD-ROM will load the User's Guide.

If you do not have a PDF Reader installed on your system, please read the section
below "How to Install The Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) Reader."

(5)How to Install the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) Reader

In order to view the electronic User's Guide, you need to have the Adobe PDF Reader
(version 4.05 or better) installed on your computer. This section describes how
to install the PDF Reader from the Video VoxPhone Gold 2.0 CD-ROM. If you downloaded
the program off the Internet, you can download the free Adobe PDF Reader by
pointing your web browser towards http://www.adobe.com or from the download's
section of the VoxPhone website: http://www.voxphone.com.

If you already have a PDF Reader installed on your computer, all you need to do to
load the electronic User's Guide is to click on the User's Guide.pdf file, on your
program CD-ROM. You only need to install this program if you presently do not have
a PDF Reader installed on your system. If you do not know whether or not you have a
PDF Reader installed on your system, we recommend you install the PDF Reader on the
Video VoxPhone Gold 2.0 CD-ROM.

To install the Adobe PDF Reader:

1. Insert the Video VoxPhone Gold 2.0 CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive, if it isn't
   already in the drive.
2. Go to the Viewers directory on the Video VoxPhone Gold 2.0 CD-ROM. To do this,
open up the Windows Explorer and select your CD-ROM drive. Double-click on the
   Viewers directory.
3. Double-click on the PDF 4.05 Reader Install.exe file. This loads the installation
   program.
4. After a few seconds, the program will load the PDF Install Setup Wizard. The
Wizard will automatically install the PDF Reader onto your hard drive. Click Next
to begin the install, and follow the prompts.
5. After you have installed the PDF Reader, to view the electronic User's Guide,
simply click on the User's Guide.pdf file on the Video VoxPhone Gold 2.0 CD-ROM.

(6)About the Tutorial Videos

There are two tutorial presentations, included on the Video VoxPhone Gold 2.0
CD-ROM. We suggest you watch them before installing and using the program, so
that you can learn more about the installation and use of Video VoxPhone Gold 2.0.

The Introduction Tutorial describes the concepts involved in making calls over the
Internet and outlines how Video VoxPhone Gold 2.0 works. The Advanced Tutorial
describes how to configure Video VoxPhone Gold 2.0 along with how to use some of
its basic features. We recommend viewing the tutorials in order, starting with the
Introduction Tutorial.

To view these tutorials, simply insert the Video VoxPhone GOLD 2.0 CD-ROM into your
CD-ROM drive. If you have autorun enabled in Windows, the disk will automatcially
load and you can select the Introduction tutorial or the Advanced tutorial.

If you do not have autorun enabled, just click the Start button, then choose Run
from the menu, then type: x:\AutoRun.exe (where x: represents your CD drive).
Then choose which tutorial you'd like to watch.

Please note, you can only watch one tutorial at a time.
Tutorial videos are too large to include in the download version and as such are not
part of the download version.

(7)Known Compatibility Issues

7.1 WinGate and Sysgate
This new version *does* support WinGate and SysGate -- but if you are sharing your
Internet connection using WinGate/SysGate over a local area network, only one
VoxPhone user will be able to access the Internet at a time, the rest can place
calls directly to each other over the local area network. That's because each
individual user must have a separate Internet Protocol (IP) address.

SO, if you have a local area network, running a WinGate/SysGate server, what
happens? Everyone on the local area network can run Video VoxPhone Gold 2.0,
but only one will be able to make VoxPhone PC-to-PC and PC-to-Phone calls outside
the local area network. Everyone else, will be able to make VoxPhone PC-to-PC calls
locally over the network, but not over the Intenet. That's because on a local area
network, usually every computer has a different network address, which VoxPhone can
use as an IP address. But with only one actual IP address to the Internet, only
one person will be able to connect outside of local area network.

This is also the case wih MS Proxy. We are working on the overcoming this virtual
IP addressing issues, for future versions of VoxPhone.

7.2 Internet Explorer (IExplorer)
Video VoxPhone GOLD 2.0 is fully compatible with Internet Explorer 4.0 and later
versions. Order versions are not supported by Video VoxPhone GOLD 2.0. If you are
using an older version, we recommend you upgrade by going to either of these
    websites: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/?IE or www.microsoft.com.
