The simplest way to use the ScrollingText applet is with the <param name=text value=> applet parameter tag. The applet will display the text in the value parameter with the default background, text color and font. There are special escape characters used by the applet, see instructions.txt for more information.

The href tag is an easy way to make the ScrollingText applet a link, just specify the link url as the value of the href parameter.

The ScrollControl applet is an effective way to leverage the SrollingText applet as a functional part of Your web page. You can change the scrolling text dynamically, using either a file url or a text string in the action parameter. The ScrollControl applet will accept an image parameter and a text parameter. If a text parameter is specified as well as an image, the text will be drawn on top of the image.

Custom ScrollingText control applets can be created if a more complex effect is desired. See the instructions for a description of the public ScrollingText methods.
