INSTALLING "FRENCHWAVES"

Installing "FrenchWaves involves a twofold process: first,
installing the VoiceMemo software (via voicememo_setup.exe) and
secondly installing the various files that make up the
FrenchWaves program proper (via frwaves1.exe).

Thus, after unzipping FrWaves1.zip observe the following:

FIRST:

Double-click on "voicememo_setup.exe" (an installation file) and
when the interface appears, change the default directory
(VoiceMemo) to FrenchWaves. The new and full directory location
will thus read: C:\Program Files\FrenchWaves. Proceed to install
VoiceMemo.

SECOND:

Double-click on FrWaves1.exe. When the interface then appears,
click on "start" to install the FrenchWaves files and two other
files (which are VoiceMemo-related). One file -- Dphone.dat --
will be installed in the FrenchWaves directory, while the other
file -- VoiceMemo.ini -- will be sent to the Windows directory
where it should overwrite its namesake already there.

The user's next chore is to access the Netscape Navigator browser
or Microsoft's IE browser. Once on the screen, one or the other
browser can then be used to access (open) the Homepage.htm found
in the C:\Program Files\FrenchWaves directory. After reading
this hypertextual guide, the user will be able to set-up his or
her own mode of operation (listening, writing, comparing etc.)

Good luck!
(Bonne chance !)

P.S.

A Notepad shortcut file will be installed in the FrenchWaves
directory. You may find it useful to access the Notepad editor
via that shortcut.
