This is an Excel spreadsheet which can be used to validate the accuracy of a test method.
It can be used to determine if a measurement has significant operator error and/or equipment error.
The procedure requires three different operators to measure 10 different parts three times as part of a blind study.
The spreadsheet calculates the relative error for each operator and gives a pass or fail remark for each person/combination of persons.

The spreadsheet needs to know the range in the specification for the measurement.
In this way, the program knows how accurate you really need to be, i.e. it checks that you are not using a hammer to crack a peanut! (or over-expensive equipment).
The pass/fail criteria is based on an assumption that the average error should be no more than 20% of the specification range - which is used in industry.

Instructions are provided in the spreadsheet, see the Instructions tab at the foot of the file.

The file can be used with MS Excel for Windows 95 or later.
