GETTING STARTED
================

Well, you've got this far so I'm not going to tell you how
to extract the zip file. So, lets begin..

First of all I must say that if you are downloading DivX ;-)
films from off the internet, the pros are very good are filling
up a disk to the very last byte. And because of this you may
not have enough space to put this autorun and the codec on too
so you might have to over burn the CD when your write it.

At present the DivX ;-) codec is 1.75mb and the autorun is 350kb.

The autorun program has a default setting for all items. This
also means you can remove the Install codec button. This then
allows you to remove the codec from the disc too, saving more
space.

Lets go and take a look how the autorun setting are saved and
used.

=============
THE SETTINGS
=============

All the setting are read from the autorun.inf file when the
autorun program is first started.

There are two sections in this file. One is used by windows, and
one by me. These two sections are [autorun] and [hdaalz]. Let
me first talk a bit about the Windows one.

[autorun] has two items.

> OPEN=divx.exe
This is the file that windows will look for and run when you put
the CD in the drive. divx.exe is our autorun menu.

> ICON=data\icon.ico
This is the icon that will be used for the drive when your
DivX ;-) disc is in. You can change this if you want and use
your own icon. This item is not required. The default icon will
be the one used for divx.exe

            -------------------------------------

Next is the [hdaalz] section. This is where all the information
about the program is kept. This has six items for your to edit.

> TITLE=The DivX ;-) Test Movie
This is the title item that allows you to add a title to the
window. If you do not add this line, then the default title will
 be " DivX ;-) ".

> SHOWINSTALL=1
This will allow you to put a button on the window, that allows
the user to install the DivX ;-) codec with a click of the
button. The default for this item is 0 - not to show it.

> CODECPATH=codec\divx.inf
If the above is =1 then you will need to add this line if you
want to use anything other then the default path. This is the
 path to the divx.inf file " codec\divx.inf ".

> MOVIEPATH=movie\divx_logo.avi
This is the path to the movie. The default path, if you don't
 add this line is " movie\divx_logo.avi ".

> SHOWCOVER=0
This allows you to turn off the loading of the coverpicture and
use the built in 'DivX ;-) MPEG Video Codec' logo.
The default for this item is 0 - not to show it.

> COVERPICTURE=data\cover.bmp
This is the path to the picture on the front of the program,
you can use this to show the cover of the DVD box or a
screenshot to help you remember how good (or bad) the film was.
The default for this is " data\cover.bmp ".

> SCREENMODE=0
This is the how the window is shown when your movie loads.
0 is normal, 1 is restored window, 2 is minimized,
3 is maximized. Default is 0

That is it. With is file you should find a sample autorun.inf
file that uses all the default items filled in.
