Installation
------------
Installing CD Jewel Designer is VERY simple. It's just one .EXE file. All you have to do is to extract the ZIP archive and run the application from where you stored it. You could also place Shortcuts on your Desktop or Start Menu (see Microsoft Windows Manual if you don't know how to do that).

Archive contents
----------------
CD Jewel Designer is distributed in one ZIP archive file, CDJEWEL.ZIP
It contains five files:

ReadMe.txt - This file!
License.txt - The License Agreement your'e supposed to read!
CDJewel.exe - The executable programme file.
Datub.jwl - Example design project file.
Datub.bmp - Image to the example.

These files MUST ALWAYS be distributed together. You are NOT allowed to extract files from the archive and distribute parts of it.

Usage
-----
CD Jewel Designer is REALLY easy to use. It was designed so that my boss could use it. He always make a lot of CDR copies, and never any labels telling whats on them. Finally we had piles of CDR's, all of them looking just the same...

* There are only two text fields; Title and Contents.
* You can easily change colors of backgrounds and fonts.
* You can place a simple image on the front and/or back of your forms.
* Easy to change alignment and styles of fonts.
* You can save and open designs.

"Just type, print and cut out!"

A little about text fields
--------------------------
Depending on your font settings there might be some cutting of text. If you plan to have a lot of text in Contents and/or Title you should consider using a smaller font setting. You could always check in Preview if it looks ok.

A little about colors
---------------------
Remember that color might be hard to read if using colors that have poor contrast to the background. If you don't have a color printer you should be careful in using colors.

A little about images
---------------------
CD Jewel Designer can read standard Windows BMP bitmap graphic files. The proportions of the image is ALWAYS of a square.
If your image is a rectangle it will be stretched to fill the square. This could easily be fixed using Paint, which is included in Windows. Just create a new image with the same height and width and paste your image in the center of it. Save and use.

A little about save/open
------------------------
With CD Jewel Designer you can save and open your designs. A brilliant feature if you want to make a template of fonts and/of colors for future use, or just print out similar forms in the future.
The program creates files with the .JWL extension.
