Cardboard Schedule
==================

Cardboard Schedule is a team based project planning and tracking tool. It is a
straight-forward application with emphasis on usability and clarity. Use to
encourage teams to take responsibility for planning and tracking their schedule.

Cardboard Schedule provides a person-oriented display - it clearly shows tasks
assigned to each person, the duration of each task and when the task is
expected to be finished. Each team member always knows what they are working
on next, and can see how it fits with the rest of the team's work. Also shows
where people are being under or over utilised.

Common tasks are enabled for drag-and-drop. Reassign or reschedule any task in
a few seconds. Can also use mouse to create and delete tasks. Click and type
to change a label on a task or milestone.

Other features include: save schedule as image (viewable with web browser),
export as CSV file, on-line help and tutorial, colour printing and zoom
display in/out.

Release Notes
-------------

Changes for v1.16 (July 2000)

* Various Minor UI fixes.

Changes for v1.15 (June 2000)

* Added indicators to show split tasks.

* Several display enhancements:
  - Added tooltips to tasks.
  - Increased font size for people names.
  - Indicate day boundaries with light-yellow shading of alternate days.
  - Put date number against every day.

* Printing enhancements
  - Variable sized page margin.
  - Option for pure black and white print.

* Added Fixed Tasks. Fixed tasks represent things like public holidays. They
  are special because:
  - Fixed tasks cannot be placed on top of each other.
  - Normal tasks which would overlap a fixed task are scheduled around the
    fixed task.
  To make a Fixed Task, create a Task Type which is fixed (by clicking the
  'Fixed' check box on the task type page). Set the type of tasks to that
  fixed type.

* Can now output image of schedule that can be viewed in a browser.

* Shortcut keys added:
   Del:       Delete selected tasks/milestones
   Ctrl-A:    Select all tasks/milestones
   Alt-Enter: Edit selected task/milestone
   F2:        Edit selected task/milestone
   F11:       Show/Hide Properties book.
   Ctrl-S:    Save
   Ctrl-O:    Open
   Ctrl-P:    Print

* Added menu to select tasks.

* Can now export CSV file with project data. Includes task type.

* Now show milestone color in properties book.

* Restricted access to save images and save CSV file to licensed customers.

Changes for v1.14 (April 2000)

* Can now resize tasks to 1/4, 1/2 or 3/4 height to show multiple concurrent
  tasks for a person.

* Selection of multiple tasks and milestones by either
   - holding down ctrl key and click tasks and milestones, or
   - clicking and dragging a bounding box over several tasks or milestones.

* Right click menus for tasks and milestones.

* Colors now selected from a standard Color Picker - selection expanded
  from old six colors.

* Clicking and typing no longer automatically changes a thing's name - use
  right-click menu to do this.

* Changed default duration for new schedule to sixty days.

* Moved New Task Default Task Type drop down under new task, new milestone and
  rubbish bin icons.

* Changed painting of tasks to allow longer names.

Note: Help and Tutorial files have yet to be updated.

Changes for v1.13 (January 2000)

* Now uses JavaHelp instead of BrowserHelp

* Added corner icon to application

Changes for v1.12 (January 2000)

* Allow user to zoom task display in and out.

* Add 'New Task Type' drop down box to tool bar.

* Allow user to copy tasks by dragging while holding the control key down.

* Save schedules in compressed format.

* Various cosmetic fixes.

Changes for v1.11

* Dynamically change height of task to allow space for two lines of description
independent of the Java VM used.

Changes for v1.10

* Help updated and converted to Cardboard Nu Look and Feel.

* Add '.cs' to file name if no other extension given when saving a file.

* Fixed bug with milestone line display.

Changes for v1.02

* Better checking of the license files.

* Nicer display of license details for unregistered product.

* Now tells how many days left in the evaluation. Won't let you run if you
  have run out of evaluation days

* Displays ToolTips on the drag and drop icons (new task, new milestone, rubbish
  bin). This was hard.

* New menu option: Quick Start Tutorial.

* Asks to show the Quick Start Tutorial when started for the first time. (Code
  works, but I have yet to write the tutorial).

* Might have a fix for displaying help files on NT. It was previously failing
  where the path to the help file had a space in it - such as "Program Files".
  This did not affect Windows 98.
