Announcing Alexsys Team 98.9.3 and Team-Web 1.6 
(April 5, 2001)

Installation Instructions :
    
     - Installing a new Team installation
                             or
     - Updating an existing Team installation

  Installing a New Team installation:

  1.) Download the full installation at:

         http://www.alexcorp.com/download/tsetup.exe

  2.) On your network server, run the tsetup.exe
       program and follow the instructions.


  Updating an existing Team installation:
  
  1.) Download the update at:

         http://www.alexcorp.com/download/teamupd.exe

  2.) If you are running WebEntry or Team-Web, stop the
       "World Wide Web Publishing" services before
       installing the update.

  3.) Before running the update, make sure all users are
       logged off of Team and that Team is shutdown to
       prevent users from logging in while you are updating:

       a.) Run the TeamAdm.exe program from your Team
            installation directory on your server.
       b.) Select the Shutdown Tab.
       c.) Select Manual Shutdown and select Apply. 
       d.) Wait 2 minutes for active copies of Team to be
            terminated or until Team tells you that there are
            no connections to the database.

  4.) Once Team is shutdown, run the update on the
       server and install it in the Team installation directory.
       (The update is called Teamupd.exe.)
     
  5.) Once the server is updated, there is no need to
       install anything on the clients. The clients will be
       updated automatically the next time they run Team.

  6.) Restart your "World Wide Web Publishing" Services
       on your server.

  7.) Re-enable Team so users can log in:

       a.) Run the TeamAdm.exe program from your Team
            installation directory on your server.
       b.) Select the Shutdown Tab.
       c.) Deselect Manual Shutdown and select Apply. 
            
     ** Team is now updated and ready for users to log in.

More Installation Notes:

   - If you are using a Windows NT server, run this install
     directly from the NT server.

   - Teamupd.exe is a server update installation and
     should not be installed on client PCs.   Clients are
     automatically updated the next time they run Team
     after the server has been updated.

   - Installing this build requires 30% more space than
     versions v98.6.1 or earlier.  Before installing, be sure
     that your server or SQL server has at least twice the
     amount of database space free as currently in use.

   - Team-Web: Make sure you are running with the latest
     Internet Explorer 5 update to the Java Virtual Machine
     to avoid/fix date problems that occurred after the Year
     2000.

Important Information:

   - When exporting Crosstab and Chart data with Work 
     Time Total to CSV files, if using Excel to display the 
     csv file, you have to format your column cells as
     [hh]:mm to get the values to display properly as
     elapsed times.

  - Team and Team-Web only support 4 digit year date
    formats.  If you use a date format that uses a 2 digit
    year format, Team and Team-Web will convert that 
    format to a 4 digit year.  
 
          For example, if using mm/dd/yy
          Team and Team-Web will use mm/dd/yyyy

   - The Find feature in the TeamView has been 
     changed to an advanced search for
     work requests and knowledge base articles.

   - Team does not support large attachments with
     Oracle 8.05 due to a problem with the Borland
     Database Engine (BDE). You must "copy and link" 
     or "link" any attachments using Team-SQL for 
     Oracle 8.05.

   - The Work Request customize attachments
     has been changed from "Customize Memos" to
     "Customize Tabs" to support the new Time
     Tab for Time Recording.

   - Print and Detailed Report templates have been
     changed to support custom memo fields.  Any
     changes you have made to the original Default
     templates that Team supplies will be lost unless
     you Backup your files when updating to the latest
     version.  Default1.htm and Default1.rtf are no 
     longer supported and will be removed from the
     Template directory.

   - The Customer Lookup Table has been renamed to
     Company in v98.8.1.  

   - The "File | View All Detail" feature has been
     moved to "Tools | Detail Report" for all 
     applicable windows in v98.8.1.

   - Team-Web: Make sure you are running with the latest  
     Internet Explorer 5 update to the Java Virtual  
     Machine to avoid/fix date problems that occurred 
     after the Year 2000.
     
   - If you are running a version of Team prior to
     v98.8 and you have a Contact field in your Work
     Request form, when Team is updated to v98.8.5
     or later, your Contact field will be preserved and
     the new Contact field supplied in Team will be
     renamed to "Contact (1)".  If you see "Contact (1)"
     in your Field Rules (Admin | Rules) this means
     that Team has detected an existing field in your
     with database with "Contact" somewhere in the field 
     label.

Fixes in Team v98.9.3 and Team-Web 1.6:

  - SQL databases no longer have upgrade problems
    when upgrading the Rules, Log, or Revision Tables.

  - Support for "day-first" date formats will no longer
    cause invalid date errors.

  - Removed the generic "12:00 AM" timestamp from 
    custom date fields and include time portion in date 
    fields only when a real timestamp has been included.

 -  Printing reports in Windows 95 now works correctly.

Features:

  - Multiple Work Request Delete

         System level users can now delete multiple
         requests using a TeamView tab or List to generate
         the list of requests to delete and selecting 
         "File | Delete All".

  - Support Year First Dates

         Date formats using yyyy/mm/dd or yy/mm/dd are
         now supported in Team using "/" and "-" date
         separators. 

         Team-Web will only support "/" separators.  
 
         If using a 2 digit year format, Team and Team-Web
         will convert this to a 4 digit year format.

  - Team-Web: Delete Request

         System level users can delete requests from within
         the Work Request Edit form in Team-Web.

  - Team-Web: Automatic Login
        
          If you have cookies enabled in your Internet
          Browser, you can use Automatic Login with
          Team-Web.


Enhancements:

  - SQL: Increase performance when using Time Fields
    in filters.

  - Allow multiple copies of a general report, Crosstab,
    Chart, or List to be printed.

  - Allow selected pages of a general report to be printed.

  - Allow collating when printing.

  - Improved the way the Project Tree shows
    descendants. 

  - Added general report and printing support for legal and
    A4 paper sizes.

  - Increase possible work time for a single time record
    from 24 hours to 60 hours.

  - Filtering on Act Effort and Est Effort now use numeric
    compares instead of string compares.

  - Printing Work Request Details will now default to
    Portrait.

  - Team-Web: Improve performance saving changes to
    records.

  - Team-Web: Guest users no longer have access to 
    Change History information.


Fixes:

  - Request and Status columns are in sync when
    scrolling in the Project Tree.

  - Crosstab Reports now maintain the sorts that were
    applied in the original Crosstab.

  - Change History log will now support local regional
    settings from the user's PC and display the correct
    dates.

  - Report Preview now displays the same number of rows
    as the printed report.

  - Work Request memo expansion windows now support
    the printer  selection of Portait and Landscape
    orientation.

  - Export of Crosstab and Chart data with Work Time
    Total to CSV or HTML files now displays correct date
    format.  

  - SQL: no longer have intermittent failures when using
    Time Fields in filters.

  - SQL: Revision Table correctly uploaded to reflect the
    correct database level of the database.

  - SQL: Data from Crosstabs and Charts that are using
    any Time Field is now being saved correctly when
    saving to a CSV file when using.

  - SQL: General reports correctly displaying Time Fields.

  - SQL: Scrolling in TeamView lists using the scrollbar
    arrows will refresh the data correctly in the TeamView
    and not clear the data in calculated fields.

  - SQL for Oracle only - no longer receive an error when
    printing a report with more than 254 pages.

  - SQL for Oracle only: no longer receive error when
    adding a flag note in Team-Web after adding multiple
    general notes.

  - SQL for Oracle only: no longer receive error when
    searching marker fields using Find in the Work
    Request form.

  - Allow "blank" as valid value for Work Date and
    Work Person filters.

  - Conditional Rules now work correctly for Time
    Fields when using both Lists and Ranges for the 
    requirement condition.

  - No longer get an error when selecting "Show Inactive"
    while trying to enter a new value in a Lookup Table.

  - Optimized Work Request searching to allow searching
    for what is new for dates after 1900.

  - Crosstab reports no longer show Work Time values as
    Dates.

  - Chart legends display correct information when using
    Work Time as the row field.

  - Report columns will resize to accomodate data from a
    calculated field when the data is wider than the column
    heading.

  - Calculated number of rows now matches the number
    of rows displayed in a general report for Landscape 
    and Portrait orientations.

  - Include Yes/No values in dropdown list for Find dialog
    in the Work Request form when searching marker 
    fields.

  - The Report Preview screen is now refreshed to reflect
    any changes made in the printer dialog for page
    orientation and paper size.

  - Deleting a time record from a request will now display
    the current date in the change record in the Change
    History log.

  - No longer get an error when printing a TeamView list 
    when the Data Properties dialog is still open.

  - General reports now display all names in the Flag
    Names column.

  - Allow "blank" as a valid value for Date filters.

  - Team-Web: Filter date variables work properly when 
    spanning into the previous year.

  - Team-Web for Oracle: Change History no longer
    includes the memo fields in every change record.

  - Team-Web: No longer get an error when attaching
    files, relating requests or adding time records when
    using Time Fields in Conditional Rules.

  - WebEntry: Supports Revision Table updates to reflect
    the correct database level of the database.
