This program enables you to draw sky charts, according to the data
of 15 catalogues of stars and nebulae, as well as the position of
planets, asteroids and comets.
It is possible to choose the program language.
At the moment French, English, Italian and German are available.

Installation :
--------------
0.	This program work with Windows 95/98 or Windows NT4 .
	A Pentium processor is recommended.
If you have a old copy of COMCTL32.DLL in \windows\system
(file older than 08/24/96) you must upgrade to the last
	version from Microsoft at :
	http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/ieplatform/ie/comctrl.asp

1.	If this is the first installation of Sky Charts, you must create the
directory for the package yourself. For example " C:\CIEL "

2. Copy the self extracting file "CDCBAS24.EXE" to this directory and run it.
If you install an update, check the box " Overwrite files without prompting ".
You must install all the packages in the same directory.
It is also possible to indicate the destination directory in the
corresponding field. Then click " OK "

3.	You may remove the self-extracting archive.

4.	See "lisezmoi.txt ", "readme.txt" or " doc.html " for more information.
If you create a shortcut for the program " ciel.exe ", you must also
specify the installation directory in the " Start in: " field properties
	of the shortcut.
At the first execution of CIEL.EXE you are prompted for your language,
or if you already run another version go to "Configuration->Langue" menu to
	change the language.

Mail to pchev@geocities.com for any comment or suggestion.

Initialization:
---------------
After installation, the program is configured to use "Bright Stars" as star catalogue.
Additional catalog data are freely available form http://www.astrosurf.org/astropc .
To use other star catalogues you might have installed, it is necessary to launch
the program and then click on "Catalogues Parameters", enter 45 in "Field Min." for
" Bright Stars Catalog ". Activate the check box for the new catalogues,
for example: "Sky2000 ", " Tycho Catalog", " Tycho Input Catalog".
Check if there is no overlap in the "Min. and Max." field width for the catalogues,
and indicate 0 for the "Min." of the last catalogue entry.
If a catalogue is installed in another directory, adjust the field " File " correspondingly.

You do not have to modify all these parameters immediately after installation,
because they can be adjusted later according to your requirements.
See the online help for more details on the initialization procedure.

In some peculiar network configuration your modem can dial-up when you start ciel.exe, or
your network is not detected and the "Online resources" function stay grayed. To solve this
problemes, run "options.exe" and choice "1 Do not control network presence at startup".

Removing the program:
---------------------
To completely remove this program you have to delete the installation directory and
all the subdirectories as well as the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Astro_PC\Ciel.
Use the program "options.exe" choice "3" to remove this registry key.
