PLANETS is intended for the casual skywatcher who is interested in locating the five planets which are visible to the naked eye. PLANETS was written for Windows 98 but it should run on systems using Windows 95 or Windows ME as well.

PLANETS displays the current location in the sky of Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, the Sun and the Moon and gives the time of day that these objects will rise and set. PLANETS allows the user to browse through time and date to determine their best opportunities to view the objects. In addition, PLANETS displays the current phase of the Moon, the location of several interesting objects best viewed with binoculars and alerts the user to the presence of meteor showers.

PLANETS requires about 3 Megabytes of hard drive space. To install, simply move PLANETS.EXE to a folder of your choosing. To uninstall it, just delete PLANETS.EXE and this Readme.txt file. Double click on PLANETS.EXE to run it. The built-in Help and pop-up Hints make the procedures for using the program obvious.

I certainly hope that you find this program both interesting and useful.
