Passphrase Keeper v2.56 - Password manager - Shareware
Release date: February 24, 2003
Minimal requirements: Windows 95/98/NT/2000/Me/XP

IMPORTANT release note for Version 2.42 and higher:
-------------------------------------
Passphrase Keeper is now limited to 64-bit (8 character) passwords FOR ITS OWN DATABASES ONLY (i.e. for the password to protect and encrypt your Passphrase Keeper databases). You may still store longer passwords in the "Password" field of each entry.

If you have databases created with any version of Passphrase Keeper before 2.42, you can still open them using a newer version; however, you will not be able to change the password to anything longer than 8 characters.
IMPORTANT! Once you edit or save a database with version 2.42 or newer, you will not be able to open it in any version older than 2.42!

This change was made to comply with U.S. export requirements governing products using encryption.
-------------------------------------

Description:

Passphrase Keeper is a powerful and easy to use password manager.

Most people keep a written list of passwords (unsafe) or using the same password on many Web sites or systems (very unsafe). With Passphrase Keeper you can keep a master list of passwords securely encrypted on your computer. You can unlock them all with a master password.

Passphrase Keeper protects your passwords with Blowfish encryption.

You can create any number of different password databases. For example, you can store your Web site passwords in one, your NT account passwords in another, etc. Passphrase Keeper creates a backup automatically each time you save the database (optional). It encrypts the backup too.

Each database that you create can contain unlimited number of entries. Passphrase Keeper includes a facility to optionally generate random passwords automatically. These passwords will be difficult for others to guess.

Passphrase Keeper can also be used to store PIN numbers and safe combinations. Any private access information that needs to be saved in a secure location can be stored in Passphrase Keeper's databases.
