==================================================================
OVERVIEW:

The Password Survival Kit saves your passwords in a secure, but
easy to retrieve manner. With the multitude of usernames and
passwords we collect (especially when online), keeping track of
them can be a challenge. Let PSK remember and manage all of your
various passwords and usernames.

The Password Survival Kit is available in two editions. The
ENCRYPTED EDITION uses a secure method of encryption to
protect the contents of your Password Survival Kit files (your
passwords). Only your master password can decrypt your files.
The Password Survival Kit files in the STANDARD EDITION are also
protected by a master password, however an experienced computer
professional can easily read the unencrypted files with a binary
editor.

For the highest level of security, purchase the Encrypted Edition
of the Password Survival Kit.

==================================================================
INSTALLATION:

Run SETUP either from the installation diskette or from the
location you have unzipped the Password Survival Kit files to.
SETUP prompts you for the following information:

	your name,

	your company name,

your serial number (leave blank for an evaluation),

	the location for installation,

the program folder to create on your start button,

and if you wish to have a Password Survival Kit icon in the
	system tray.

We suggest keeping the default values during the installation
unless you have a good reason not to.

If installing a purchased copy of the Password Survival Kit, be
sure to enter the serial number printed on your license
agreement. If you do not enter your serial number, the Password
Survival Kit will behave as a 30-day evaluation.

SAVING YOUR PASSWORDS IN THE PASSWORD SURVIVAL KIT:

1. From the Password Survival Kit folder under your "start
button", start the Password Survival Kit.

2. If you are starting the Password Survival Kit for the first
time, the Password Survival Kit creates the file DEFAULT.PSK.
The Password Survival Kit stores all your usernames and passwords
in this file. Select "OK" and enter a master password to the
contents of your data file. You are then prompted to reenter the
password to ensure you have not made a typing error.

3. Select "Edit" from the menu and then select "Add".
The "New Entry" dialog box appears.

4. Enter a descriptive system name for the system or application
you are saving password information for. Then enter your username
and password for that system or application. When done select
"OK". You are then prompted to reenter the password to ensure you
have not made a typing error.

RETREIVING YOUR PASSWORDS USING THE PASSWORD SURVIVAL KIT:

1. When your Web browser or any other Windows program prompts
for a password that you have saved in the Password Survival Kit,

to <Alt-Insert> or double click the Password Survival Kit icon in
the System Tray (next to the clock). The "Paste a username or
password" dialog appears.

2. Select the system or application to paste a password or
username from and select either "Paste username" or "Paste
password".
