QuantaCrypt can create Self Extracting (SFX) Encrypted Files so you can securely distribute files.

QuantaCrypt is a shareware product that is offered to you for a free evaluation. QuantaCrypt FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1.) Is QuantaCrypt Year 2000 compliant?

- QuantaCrypt is explicitly Year 2000 Compliant

2.) If I forget my password to an encrypted file, is there anything that I can do to recover the file?

- Unfortunately, there is nothing that ASCENT SOLUTIONS Inc can do about this. Additionally, the only thing that you can do is to remember your password or write it down somewhere safe.

3.) What kind of encryption does QuantaCrypt use?

- QuantaCrypt uses what is called RC4 encryption. RC4 is a RSA derivative that was created back in 1987 by RSA Data Security, Inc. RC4 is a variable-key-size stream cipher. This algorithm is immune to differential and linear cryptanalysis. RC4 is typically a 1024-bit (or 128 bytes) encryption algorithm. However, QuantaCrypt takes this algorithm and wraps the RC4 around itself to produce a true 2048-bit (or 256 bytes) encryption program. This is what makes QuantaCrypt such a strong encryption program.

4.) What sort of files can I use QuantaCrypt on?

- You can encrypt and decrypt any file type on the PC provided that the file you are trying to encrypt is not in use while the encryption is taking place. However, QuantaCrypt will encrypt files as well as full directories and sub-directories.

5.) What is AutoCipher?

- AutoCipher Seamless is an easy way to access all of your encrypted files and directories. Use QuantaCrypt's AutoCipher to keep your directories and files extremely secure.

6.) What is the purpose of the SFX (Self-Extracting File) for QuantaCrypt?

- The SFX portion of QuantaCrypt first encrypts the file or files (Directories or sub-directories), and then it wraps a decrypter around them so they can be decrypted on any computer with that does not have QuantaCrypt installed. In essence, the decrypter has been bundled with the encrypted file for ease of use.
