---------------------------- The Groove Mechanic ------------------------------

1. What does Groove Mechanic do?

The primary purpose of the Groove Mechanic is to dramatically improve the quality
of your old vinyl LP records and cassette tapes while getting them ready to record
onto a CD. While it does not actually perform the CD writing, it does allow you to:

capture the audio from LPs or tapes (or other sources) into audio files on your
    computer
analyze the quality of the sound
remove the "clicks and pops" that often plague older LPs
remove the "rumble" that is sometimes apparent in both new and old LPs
remove the "hiss" that is often audible on tapes
work on an entire LP side (or cassette side) at a time, and then split it into
    individual songs, or "tracks"

The output from Groove Mechanic is WAV files, which are accepted by nearly every
CD-recording software package. The resulting CDs can be played back on any audio or
computer CD player.

The Groove Mechanic is shareware - if you use it beyond the 30-day evaluation
period, you are required to register it. See the file ORDER.FRM.

2. Installing Groove Mechanic

You will probably receive Groove Mechanic as an Install Shield package, in which
case it can be installed by simply double-clicking on SETUP.EXE in the Windows
Explorer, and following the instructions in a few dialog boxes. This will copy
the software to your hard disk and set up an icon in your Start Menu.

If instead you received Groove Mechanic as a ZIP file you will need to decompress
it. Use PKUNZIP or one of the many Windows-based decompressors, and unzip it to a
directory such as \GROOVE. Next, add an entry for Groove Mechanic in your Start
menu (by right-clicking on the Start button then creating a folder or using an
existing folder, then creating a shortcut). Or create a shortcut on your desktop
(by right-clicking on the desktop area, selecting New->Shortcut, and then browsing
to the location where you saved the Groove Mechanic files.

The files you then have in the directory are:
        GrooveMech.EXE The executable
        GroovMec.HLP The English-language help file
        GroovM_G.HLP The German-language help file
        ReadMe.txt This file
ORDER.FRM Order form, for you to e-mail or print and fill out
UninstRg.dll Used by unInstallShield to remove Groove Mechanic
                           entries in the Windows Registry

Then Groove Mechanic may be started, by double-clicking on the program icon.

Fixed occasional error "MMSYSTEM007" (not enough memory).

4. Distributing Groove Mechanic

You are encouraged to pass a copy of the unregistered version of Groove Mechanic along
to your friends for evaluation.

5. Registering your copy

You may use the shareware version of Groove Mechanic for a 30 day trial period. If
you would like to continue to use it after the 30 day trial period, you are required
to register the program with Coyote Electronics Inc.

There are two ways to register: via e-mail (or regular mail), through Coyote Electronics
(with payment by cheque or money order), or via the web, using a commercial shareware
registration service (with payment via credit card or cheque).

To register on the web, point your browser at www.coyotes.bc.ca/cei/reg.htm. Instructions
are provided there.

If you wish to register by e-mail, there is a 2-step registration process.
First, edit the file ORDER.FRM, filling in the blanks, and e-mail the completed file to

			info@coyotes.bc.ca

You will receive a temporary registration code by return e-mail. Enter that code into the
registration box in Groove Mechanic. Then send a cheque or money order (by
conventional mail) to:

        Norm Campbell
        Coyote Electronics Inc.
        11174 Canyon Crescent
        Delta, British Columbia
        Canada V4E 2R8

If you wish to register by mail, print ORDER.FRM, fill in the blanks, and send it
along with a cheque or money order to the above address.

IN EITHER CASE BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR 9-CHARACTER "SYSTEM TAG", WHICH YOU WILL SEE
IN THE REGISTRATION DIALOG BOX IN GROOVE MECHANIC.

(If your cheque is not drawn on a Canadian or US bank, the amount should be made
out in your local currency. See the online help file for details.)

The temporary registration code will function for 45 days. NOTE THAT THIS TEMPORARY
REGISTRATION CODE IS NOT TO ALLOW YOU TO EVALUATE THE PROGRAM. It is a registration
code given to you by Coyote Electronics in advance of receiving payment, given in good faith
that you will follow through with the payment.

If you simply wish to evaluate Groove Mechanic, you do not need a registration code at all.

As soon as your cheque is received, Coyote Electronics will send you your permanent
key. Use the menu item Help | Enter Permanent Registration Code to enter it.

If you have any suggestions for future enhancements or additions that you would
like to see made to Groove Mechanic, please pass them on to us and we will try to
accomodate.

Please direct any communication to Coyote Electronics via e-mail, at info@coyotes.bc.ca
