C2PRO version 2.0
November 12, 1999

Thank you for your interest in C2PRO! There are more than a few programs
dedicated to creating and maintaining a database of colletible cards, but we
believe that C2PRO is one of the best. Please review this document
carefully. It contains up to date information concerning C2PRO that may not
be included in the regular documentation.

1. What's New
---------------------------------------

MULTIPLE USER SUPPORT INCLUDING:

Preferences set for each user profile.

Multiple databases for each user profile.

Persistent settings for window sizes, toolbars, and more. Each setting
saved per user profile.

IMPROVED DATABASE FEATURES:

New, advanced, and completely self contained database engine for Version 2
offers greater stability and import capability for C2PRO version 1.x
databases.

Database backup protection enhanced to allow obsolete generations to be
moved to Recycle Bin. Obsolete Backup Generations can be directly restored
from Recycle Bin.

When Databases are deleted, deleted database files are moved to the Recycle
Bin.

Deleted databases can be restored DIRECTLY from the Recycle Bin. (C2PRO will
have to be restarted to see the restored database).

Multiple Cards can be deleted at one time. ALL deleted cards are moved to a
local Trash bin, where they can be permanently removed or can be restored.

Cards can be copied to the Card Bin, where they can be copied to other
Databases.

IMPROVED USER INTERFACE AND LAYOUT:

Look up Table Management redesigned for "drill-down" view of look up tables.

Field labels can be renamed.

Dockable Tool bars.

Tool bar state (docked, where docked, floating position, size, etc) is saved
between user sessions.

Dockable Main Menu can be docked horizontally or vertically.

Dockable Picture panel.

Resizable Panels.

Detail view adjusts field display order to match Main Grid.

IMGAGE SUPPORT INCLUDING:

MULTIPLE Pictures for each card.

Load pictures DIRECTLY from TWAIN compliant devices such as DIGITAL CAMERAS
and SCANNERS.

PASTE pictures from the clipboard.

CUT and COPY pictures to the clipboard.

Support for importing JPEG (JPG), Bitmap (BMP), and more...

formats such as RTF, HTML, PDF, and more.

The ability to create web pages of your cards with the digital images of
your cards pictures automatically generated from your database.

EXPANDED DATA FIELDS INCLUDING:

Rookie (check box)

Want (check box)

Common (check box)

Sport (user controlled pick list)

Team (user controlled pick list)

Collections (user controlled pick list).

Expanded Year field from 4 to 7 characters to facilitate split year entries
(i.e. "1998-99").

OTHER FEATURES AND ENHANCEMENTS:

The ability to establish collections of cards.

---------------------------------------
2. Upgrading from version 1.0
---------------------------------------

THIS IS IMPORTANT:

If you were previously using C2PRO version 1 and you want to import the 1.0
database into C2PROv2, DO NOT UNINSTALL C2PRO VERSION 1.0!

The reason is C2PRO looks for the Borland Database Engine (BDE) Alias that
points to the old (C2PRO version 1.0) database. If you uninstall C2PRO
version 1.0, there is a good chance that the BDE will be uninstalled, and
C2PROv2 will not be able to find and read the version 1.0 database.

Specific import instructions are covered in the C2PROv2 help file.

---------------------------------------
3. Installation Issues
---------------------------------------

Unlike version 1.0, version 2 should install under the defaults provided in
the installation program with no significant issues such as database engine
locations, versions, and so forth.

The one main issue with installing C2PRO is that C2PRO should only be
installed in ONE location on your computer. This is because C2PRO uses it's
directory as a reference point (i.e. application directory) to refer to it's
database directories. If you should install two or more copies of C2PRO on
one computer, then each program will be looking at different database
directories, user directories, etc. Therefore, as you start different
copies of C2PRO, you will see different user profiles and databases.

If you have a previous version of C2PROv2 (VERSION 2!), it would probably be
best to uninstall it. The user profile and databases should not be deleted
(as always, its a good idea to backup your databases and profiles by making
a copy of them to some other location on the hard drive).

If you need to do an absolute CLEAN install, here is how to do it:

1. Uninstall C2PROv2 through the Windows Control Panel (see specifics in
"Uninstall Support" in this file).

2. Delete the remaining C2PROv2 directory (where you installed C2PRO) and
all it's subdirectories.

3. Clean out the registry using regedit. To do this:

a. From Windows, click on the Start button, and select "Run". Type in
"regedit".

b. Navigate to the following key:

My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software

c. You can than delete the key "LK2".

---------------------------------------
4. Uninstall support
---------------------------------------

C2PRO includes complete uninstall support. To uninstall C2PRO:

1. Open the Windows Control Panel. One way to do this is to click on the
Start button, then select "Settings" and then "Control Panel"

2. Click on "Add/Remove Programs".

3. In the "Add/Remove Programs Properties" window, select C2PROv2 in the
lower window, then click on the Add/Remove button.

At this point, the C2PRO uninstall program will be executed. When you are
prompted for the type of installation, you should select "Automatic".
Unless you are an advanced user, or have been directed to do so by LK2
Software technical support, you should not need to do a Custom uninstall.

Note:

The uninstall will NOT remove ALL files or the C2PROv2 directory. This is
because C2PRO creates some files (such as the database files, report files,
etc), that are not installed during the original installation. You will
have to remove these files manually. To do this you will have to delete the
C2PRO directory manually. For instance, if you installed C2PRO at:

Program Files\C2PROv2

then all you would have to do is navigate to the "program files" directory
(either through Explorer or My Computer) and delete the C2PROv2 directory.

The reason we did not remove the databases during the uninstall process is
because we wanted to prevent persons from inadvertantly deleting their
databases. However, once you delete the remainder of the C2PROv2 directory,
your databases will be gone forever (after you remove them from the Windows
Recycle Bin).

---------------------------------------
5. Known problems
---------------------------------------

LOOKUP TABLE MANAGEMENT WINDOW: This window sometimes locks up when you
change a lookup value that has to be updated in the main cards database as
well as the lookup tables. Once this occurs, you will have to close C2PRO
using CTRL-ALT-DELETE. This problem can only be reproduced intermittently.
We are working on fixing this for the maintenance release.

TIP OF THE DAY DIALOG: The tip dialog is not customized per individual user.
The main effect of this is that if you establish more than one user profile,
and one user selects "Do not show this next time", then the other users will
not see the Tip Dialog on startup when they start C2PRO. All users can
still access the Tips through the Help menu on C2PRO's main window. (Help |
Show Tip of the Day).

DELETING/COPYING MULTIPLE CARDS TO THE TRASH BIN/CARD CLIPBOARD: If you are
copying or deleting a large number of cards (greater than 25 or so), then
the copying/deleting operation time will be more obvious than if you were
only doing a multi-operation on a smaller number of cards. The speed of
these operations will also be dependent on your computer hardware. We
suggest doing multi-operations on less than 25 cards at one time.
