2) How to register your copy

Depending on how you have acquired your 30 day trial
version of ENUFF, along with your name, address etc.,
(see bottom of these instructions for the registration
form), you will need to have 2-3 pieces of information
handy when you contact Akrontech to register your
copy.

You will need to have your Reference Number and your PC
ID# (both appear every time parents use the computer),
along with your name address etc.

If you have purchased a copy of ENUFF (in a box) from a
store and you have already paid, apart from the items
listed above, you will also need to provide the Product
ID code found in a sealed envelope inside the package.

The required information mentioned above can be provided
to Akrontech over the Internet by visiting
(www.akrontech.com), by E-mail, telephone, fax or
regular mail along with your payment (if applicable).

Akrontech will process your registration/ payment and
issue a serial number, which will unlock your demo
copy and change it to a time independent version.

3) Program installation

From a diskette.

- Place the ENUFF program diskette in drive A:
- From the Start menu, select RUN
- Type A:SETUP and press ENTER or click on OK
- Follow the on-screen instructions

When the installation is complete, you will be
required to set up the parent and children names and
passwords.

IMPORTANT: You must enter at least one parent name and
password during installation. The rest of the
configurations can be done at a later time.
Make sure the parent passwords are easy for you to
remember and most important, NOTE IF YOU ARE TYPING
PASSWORD LETTERS IN lower or UPPER CASE!. Akrontech
has no way of reading the parent passwords if you forget them.
If you forget the parent password(s), you will need to
remove and re-install ENUFF (using the emergency disk).
You may contact Akrontech for assistance if you are not
sure what to do in such case.

When the program is supplied over the Internet, there
will be slightly different installation instructions
available.

4) Setting user names and passwords

The program will provide space for 2 parent names and
passwords and accommodate an unlimited number of
children and their passwords.

There are two ways a parent can enter the
configuration mode:

- during installation or
- after the installation

During Installation, the process is automatic ie.
parents will enter this mode anyway. After the
installation and while a pad lock appears at the bottom
right corner of your screen, point to the lock and
Right-Click (not left-click) your mouse. Choose
Administrator, then select Configuration. Enter your
parent password and you will enter the Configuration
Mode.

Parent(s) can also enter the configuration mode through
the Start menu. From the Program list, select Akrontech
then "ENUFF Configuration Utility".

The Configuration Utility primarily consists of 3
screens:

- the parent password screen
- the children's name and password screen and
- the children's permission screen

Entering Parent Names and Passwords (for the first time)

- Type in the first parent name
- Click on Set Password or simply press Enter
- Enter and re-enter parent password

IMPORTANT! Please note if you are typing any passwords
in lower or UPPER case letters. Passwords must be
entered every time EXACTLY as they were first stored.

PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR PASSWORD!

Repeat above for second parent.
Note: The second parent configuration is optional.

Parent password changes can be done at any time after
installation by clicking on the Set Password button.

When this step is completed, click on "Next" (do not
click on "Close" yet)

Entering Children Names and Passwords

The second screen will allow entry of children names
and their passwords. Click on "Add Child" to enter
the first child. After the name entry, enter and re-
enter their password. Click on Add Child again for
child 2, 3 etc. Notice that children's passwords can be
visible to parents by clicking on "Show Passwords".

When all children have been entered, click on "Next".

To edit children's passwords, you must select a child
first by clicking over their name. Then click on Set
Password.

5) Giving children permission

When in Configuration mode, the parent(s) or
teacher(s) will access the screen where they will
give permission to the children in order to use the
computer.

- Select child's name first from the list
- While in Setting 1, Set From [day] To [day].
Use the drop down menus to select the right day if you
wish.

- Set the time you allow the child to use the computer
  per day.
- Select the time frame within which that child is to
  use up his/her time daily.
- Set the Internet permission to Yes or No for that
  child.

If the Internet option is set to NO for a given
child, that child will not be allowed to use the Dial-
up function hence he/she will be unable to connect with
your Internet Service Provider.

Setting 1 in now complete. Each child can have up to
3 daily or weekly settings. Note: These settings are
optional.

For example, Setting 1 could cover Mon. to Fri.
Setting 2 could be only for Saturday (From [Sat] to
[Sat]) and Setting 3 could be only for Sunday [Sun] to
[Sun].

Set the "Permission" to NO, if you do not wish a child
to use the computer at all (temporarily), despite the
other 3 settings. That child will be able to use the
computer again when this option is changed back to YES.

If at any point in time, a parent wishes to re-set any
of the settings for a child or simply allow that child
to have additional time (after the child has finished
their cheduled time), click on "Reset this Setting" and
give that child new time settings. If you only click on
"Reset" but you don't change the time settings,
ENUFF will permit that child to repeat the same time
they just used up.

When finished with the first child, select another
child from the same screen (list of children at the
top left).

When finished configuring all children, click on
"Close" to exit or "Next" to see the registration
information.

6) Using the computer as a parent

a) Logging in and out

When the computer starts up and Windows is loaded, the
Password Dialog screen will appear. Enter your name
or use the drop down box to select your name. If the
list of names is long and the arrow stops before the
last name on the list, use the arrow keys on your
keyboard to select the right name. Enter your
password and you will have access to the computer as
usual.

To log out, you do not need to shut down the computer
after your session is over. Either Right-Click on the
lock and select "Sign Off" or Left-Click twice on
the lock to automatically end your session.
Alternatively, from the Start Menu, select Programs,
then Akrontech and click on ENUFF.

b) Accessing the configuration menu after installation

Note: Children can not access the Configuration mode.

While the program (ENUFF) is running, a lock will
appear (usually at the bottom right corner of your
screen and beside the clock).

Point to the lock and Right-Click (not left-click)
your mouse. Choose Administrator, then select
Configuration. Enter your parent password and you
will be able to enter the Configuration mode.

c) Other option available

Parents also have access to the following options:

User Status

Right-Click on the lock and select User Status.
This option will allow parents (or children) to see
how much time each child has left for the day.
Important! This option will display the time left ONLY
AFTER a child's setting has entered the allowed time
frame. For example: if Child A can use the computer
between 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm, the computer (for User
Status purposes) will display details in the User Status
window after 3:00 pm for that child.

Computer Usage Log

While in Configuration (parent password screen), parents
can click on the "View Log File" button to see a
detailed information screen with children's log-in and
out dates and times. This list will purge itself every
14 days and will be saved with a unique file name.

7) Using the computer as a child

a) Logging in and out

When the computer starts up and Windows is loaded, the
Password Dialog screen will appear. Children must
type in or select their name from the list. Enter the
child password and you will have access to the computer
as a child.

The time left for each child will be displayed at the
bottom right corner of the screen while that child uses
the computer.

Children will be notified twice before their session is
over. The first notification will pop up 5 minutes
before the end of their session and the second
notification 1 minute before their time is up. When
their time expires, the password screen will come up.
Children should be advised to save their work when see
the last minute notification. If they fail to do that,
a parent or a sibling can sign in even after their time
is up and save their work.

Children do not have to shut down the computer after
their session is over. If a child wants to pause the
timer for a while, they can Right-Click on the lock and
select "Sign Off" or simply Left-Click twice on the lock.
They would have to re-enter their password in order to
start using the computer again later.

b) Programs children can use

There is no restriction on the type or number of
programs children can use.

Children however can not access the Configuration
mode.

c) Other options available

Children have the option of pausing their session at any
time, without loosing any of their time. They simply
need to Sign Off by Right-Clicking on the Pad Lock and
selecting Sign Off. When they return to the computer,
they need to enter their password again to continue.

8) What if a child...

Q1. Needs some extra time (one day) to finish their
school work and the parent(s)/teacher(s) are not
present?

It is suggested that parents create a configuration
for an additional child with a name like "Virtual".
Allow 30 min or 1 hr every day of the week and assign
a password that only you (the parent/teacher) will
know. If the child needs special consideration one
day, you can provide that password to your child over
the phone and that child can use the computer as
"Virtual". Remember to change the password when you
are back at home though, because the "Virtual" child
will have extra time every day!

If the parent(s) are present and they decide to give
that child extra time, they need to enter the
Configuration mode, then access the screen with the
child permissions and select the child's name.
Following that, parents must click on Reset This Setting
and enter the new time setting for the day.

Q2. Tries to change the time and date on the computer
in order to keep using it?

ENUFF has several built-in protection mechanisms.
The computer time and date can be changed in 2-3
different ways. However, when a child operates the
computer, ENUFF will not allow the child to change
these variables. A parent/teacher however can change
the time as usual.
Note: If you (the parent or teacher) find that the
computer time has been changed, call Akrontech for
advice.

Q3. Tries to delete the entire program?

The child will be able to remove certain non-critical
files but not the actual program. However, if you (the
parent or teacher) find a message "Configuration File
Corrupt" coming up when you enter your password, that
is an indication that someone tried to remove the
program from the computer. Although ENUFF will still
provide the security you would expect, it is
recommended that you re-install the program at that
point. A parent must Right-Click on the Lock, select
Administrator and EXIT (with password). Re-installation
would then be possible.

Q4. Starts the computer with a startup disk?

The computer will start but the C: drive will not be
accessible.

Q5. Just finished their time but a parent decides to
give that child additional time for that day?

Enter the Configuration menu as described in section
6(b). Proceed to the window where you would set the
days and times for every child. Select the right
child from the list and click on "Reset this setting".
Change the permission to whatever new setting you
wish. Note that the Reset must be clicked even if you
are going to repeat the same time interval that the
child just used up.

At the end, click on Close to exit Configuration.

9) Removing the program

Before registration, the demo can be removed by
clicking on "Remove Demo" from the registration reminder
screen which appears every time a parent enters his/her
password.

If you ever wish to remove the entire program after it
has been registered, you must exit the program first.
Then, follow these steps to complete that task
(only if it is absolutely necessary):

To Exit the program:

Right-Click on the Lock (usually located at the bottom
right corner of your screen). Then select
Administrator and Exit. Enter your password and you
will unload (Exit) the program. That means ENUFF
will not be operating after that point but it will still
be on your computer. At that point you can re-install
(upgrade) the program if you wish.

IMPORTANT! Removing the program from your computer,
will require complete re-installation later!

Follow these steps to permanently remove the program
from your computer only after you have Exited:

(Note: only parents are able to perform this function)

From the Start Menu, select Settings, then Control
Panel and Add/Remove Programs. From the list that
will appear, double click on "ENUFF Uninstall" and
confirm the removal of the program.

ENUFF will be removed completely.
