Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: When I start Internet Sweeper it stops saying it needs VB40032.DLL.
A: Some download sites do not accept the runtime libraries in the ZIP file.
Please download the "full" version from http://www.geocities.com/Internet_Sweeper
To reduce download times, the "light" version does not contain vb40032.dll.

Q: Why is there a nagging message?
A: Because Internet Sweeper is a free program. If you make a donation - I'll send a version that won't nag you. :)

Q: Why are some files not deleted?
A: Files that are in use cannot be deleted. Close your browsers before Sweeping.
A: For safety, Internet Sweeper will only delete Netscape's cache files when
located in a "Cache" subfolder. (e.g. Files in C:\temp\Cache would be deleted, C:\Cache\Files would not)
Also files in root or Windows directories are not deleted in case they are accidently set as temporary directories.
A: Internet Explorer 5 uses the C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 folder to store files.
The files in C:\Windows\Temporary Internet\Files could be from a previous version of Internet Explorer.
A: Netscape Navigator may need to be reinstalled.
You may be running a version that was not properly installed so Internet Sweeper cannot properly find it.

Q: What is the "Popup Control" ?
A: It monitors both Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator windows and closes ones you didn't open!
At the "Second(s)" interval specified, the popup control scans for browser windows.
If new windows are detected since the previous scan, and the SHIFT or CTRL key is not held down,
and the maximum number of allow browser windows hasn't been reached, then those new windows are closed.
Decreasing the second(s) interval will increase the CPU load but close windows quicker.
Increasing the second(s) interval will decrease the CPU load but longer to close windows.
You can specifiy the maximum number of browser windows to allow open.
The default maximum windows set to 1. The default seconds interval is set at 1/2 second.
Hold down the SHIFT key while opening a new window if you don't want it to close.
The Popup Control can also launch Internet Sweeper when all browsers are closed.
