                  AFTERHOURS VERSION 2.01 SHAREWARE

1. OVERVIEW

AfterHours is a QUICK and EASY to use browser utility that allows you to
manage the downloading of files such as images, mp3's, zips or any other
data files with much greater ease than ever before. You simply surf the net
as normal and tag the files (by clicking on them) that you wish to download.
In this way whole directories of files or whole pages of images can be added
to your download list and processed in the background. You therefore need
not wait for the downloads and can in fact continue browsing and adding
more and more files to the list. You also have the option to save the list
and download it at a later stage if so desired.

For a quick look at some of the features that AfterHours has to offer see
section 3. For those of you who want to get going right away install
AfterHours and view the QuickStart image in the Help menu.

For registration details (US$10) see Section 9. For developers the Delphi
source code(US$15) is also available. (See section 9)

Please note for AfterHours to work on your PC you must have Internet

2. INSTALLATION

Make sure you UNinstall any previous versions of AfterHours first. To

		C:\AfterHours\..
                                                       ..\Downloads\
                                                       ..\Memo Lists\

4. HOW TO USE THE AFTERHOURS UTILITY

Run the application by double clicking on the AfterHours.EXE file in the
C:\AfterHours\ main directory or launch from the Start/Programs/ Taskbar

As you will see AfterHours is split into two main sections :

The top section is the WebBrowser Control. It contains a menu bar,
a toolbar (with navigation buttons), a status bar, A URL address
text box and the WWW viewing area. This whole section is used for
Navigating to the desired Web Page and behaves pretty much the
same as your normal Internet Browser. Most the buttons have hints
attached to them so if in doubt place your mouse over a button and
  read the hint.

The bottom section is called the Memo Area. All the files that you
collect on your surfing travels get listed here. Again this section
consists of a ToolBar (with control buttons), a memo viewing area
  and a statusbar.

Here are five easy steps to get you going quickly :

   1) Navigate to the desired Web Page using the WeBrowser Control.
   2) Click on the LOCK button in one of the Toolbars (anyone). This
Locks the current page and ..
   3) ..now you can click on all the files on this page that you wish
to download. You will see them being listed in the memo area.
   4) Now go to the Memo Area ToolBar and click on the Start button.
This will commence downloading your selected files.
   5) While your files are being downloaded in the background you
can continue surfing the net using the WebBrowser control.
First REMEMBER to UNLOCK the LOCK button. Now navigate to
your next destination and repeat steps 1 to 5. You can add
files to the memo area even if your previous batch has not yet
      completed.

5. IMPORTANT TIPS TO REMEMBER

Note that the Memo area is completely editable i.e. you can manually
type in URL+file addresses or cut and paste from your default Browser
etc. You must however make sure that the correct syntax is observed.
If you make a spelling error for instance it will not download the
desired file.

There is a splitter bar just above the memo area. Its best to use
AfterHours in Fullscreen Mode (Maximize) and drag the splitter bar
to size the Memo and WebBrowser control to your own requirements.

Do not forget to LOCK (when selecting files for download) and UNLOCK
(when navigating) the WebBrowser control.

If a download session is in progress you can dynamically add files to
the memo area and they will be downloaded. Note however if a session
is finished (i.e. all files in memo area have been downloaded) you
must first CLEAR the memo area before adding new files for download.
You must now again click the download START button to commence the
next download session.

AfterHours has its own favourites folder to store your fovourite sites.
If you wish to add a site to this folder just click on the Add to
Favourites item in the toolbar or menu bar. If you wish to add a site
to your Internet Explorer Favourites folder right click on the WebBrowser
contol and select accordingly.

If you wish to open a New Window go to the menu bar and click on the
File/New Window item. This will launch a new Instance of AfterHours. Note
if you launch a new window by right clicking on the WebBrowser control you
launch a child window (not a new instance). All child windows automatically
get destroyed when the parent window is closed. The caption in the title
bar will indicate weather it is a parent or child. (For easier management
it is recommended that you restrict the number of open child windows.)

Do not forget to DISCONNECT when you are done surfing the net.
AfterHours does not automatically disconnect but it does remind you
on exiting the application.

6. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Afterhours can only run on PC's which have installed Internet Explorer
version 4 or 5. It has been tested on Windows 95,98 and Windows NT 4.

Known Issues with current version of AfterHours:

             - The splitter bar may not minimize the memo area smaller
               than 30 pixels.
             - Files cannot be downloaded from ftp sites this capability
however will be available in future versions.

7. FUTURE ENHANCEMENTS

It is hoped that a number of enhancements will be made to AfterHours
in the near future:

        * FTP capability will be added
        * Timer utility will be added to enable scheduling of
          downloads.
        * Progress bar will be added
        * Bug fixes will continue.

Any suggestions will be welcome.
