==================================
-- WHAT IS WEBDUMMY? -------------
==================================
WebDummy! is an easy tool to create a web page and publish
it in under 5 minutes. Answer questions like your email address,
colors, title, images, etc. and have your page fully designed and
then published on the Internet! No knowledge of any HTML programming
is needed since all the editing by you is done by answering questions.

One of the best parts is that the web page it creates looks
professional! You have a variety of images, backgrounds, and colors
to choose from. You also have a full set of tools to use in your
design including different text colors, fonts, sizes, and even
Java animations, and "mouse-over" effects.

If you've tried making web pages before and failed, WebDummy!
will put you at ease and get you on the web, looking good,
and fast!

=================================
-- HOW TO USE : ADDING A LINK ---
=================================
Most of the editing in WebDummy! is fairly easy. The more complex
part is adding a link. If you hold the mouse over any item on the "Add Link"
screen, you can see a pop-up giving detailed information on that field.
When adding a link there are several fields, they are explained below.

On the ADD LINKS screen, type in a URL and hit "ADD LINK". The next screen
has the following fields.

- LINK : This is the link URL that the user will be taken to if he clicks on it.

- LINK NAME : This is the name that the user sees. The user can click on this.

- MOUSEOVERTEXT : This is text that appears in the Status Bar of the web browser when
the user moves the mouse over the Link Name or Image.

- HOTKEY : This is a keyboard key, when the user hits this key on the keyboard
it is equivalent to clicking on that link with the mouse. ie: hitting the key on
the keyboard changes your web browser location to the URL for that link.

- IMAGE : This is an image / graphic that you can select for the link. You can
have both an image and a link name. The image appears to the left of the link
name. The user can click on this.

===================================================
-- HOW TO USE : MAKING MULTIPLE PAGES FOR A SITE --
===================================================
WebDummy! can not only be used to make a single page
for a site, but to make multiple pages for a complex site. Note this
can only be done in the REGISTERED version.

Suppose you want to have a main page. The user can then click
on your CARS link and go to your Cars web page. Or he can click
on your ANIMALS link and go to your Animals web page. Here is how
you can do this with WebDummy!.

1) START a new page in WebDummy!.

2) In the ADD LINKS section of this main page, add a link
with the URL "http://www.yoursite.com/cars.html", substituting
yoursite.com for your actual web address, and then click "ADD LINK" and fill out the information for that link.

3) Finish the page and save it with the name "index.html".

4) START a new web page using WebDummy! with your Cars information.
Then save the page with the name "cars.html". You may want to include
a link in the ADD LINKS section of this page that links back to your
main page. To do this, add a link with the URL
"http://www.yoursite.com/index.html" and then click "ADD LINK".

5) Continue with this pattern, adding links to your main page for every
extra page you want in your website.

===================================================
- WHAT ARE THE KEYWORDS AND DESCRIPTION USED FOR? =
- WHAT ABOUT SEARCH ENGINES? =
===================================================
You can find these fields located in the FINISH PAGE screen
when creating your web page. These fields set up your "meta-tags"
on your web page. Meta-tags are used by search engines to
catagorize your site and put you in the databases. Here are
the descriptions of the two fields:

KEYWORDS : When users visiting a search engine type in keywords,
your web page's keywords are scanned to match against the query and
get displayed if they do indeed match up. Thus keywords are important
for you to appear in the search engines.

Enter them in with commas seperating each keyword.
For example: classic cars,old cars,old automobiles,cars,how to build cars

DESCRIPTION : This is also used by the search engines to classify you
and often this is the only thing displayed in a search engine's
results list along with the title of your web page. So, be sure
to include a short, but informative description.

For example: Buying and selling the best in classic automobiles and cars.

------------PUBLISHING : HELP ON SETTINGS -------------------
=============================================================
If you have trouble with the settings of the program
a short description of SETTINGS follows:

In the SITE field, enter a full site name
such as : eagle.geocities.com
	  somewhere.someplace.com
	  123.456.789
	  etc.

In the USER and PASSWORD fields, enter your username
and password such as :
	  harry123
	  ******
	  etc.
This should be fairly self explanatory.

In the DIRECTORY field, you can leave this BLANK
or enter a directory name such as :
          mydirectory
          mydirectory/
          mydirectory/files
          mydirectory/files/
          etc.

Make sure you don't include a slash before the initial directory
name, this indicates the root account which you probably don't
have access too.

Clicking on SAVE PASSWORD IN PREFERENCES indicates whether you
want the password _also_ remembered in the preference file (along
with the other fields you entered). This is so that each time you
run the program, the fields are remembered and filled in for you.
Some people wouldn't want the password stored in a file for security
reasons.
However, FTPDummy! includes password encryption in the data file
so that you can not view the password.

Once you're satisfied with the entry, click OK to save it.

-- FTP Site Picker --
In the Settings screen if you click on the little '?' button, you get a
screen that gives you all the information you need to figure out what your
FTP Server Address should be.
You can even pick from a list of Internet Access Providers and have the
information instantly plugged in for you, such as the tricky AOL ftp
information. If all fails and you still can't find one, it can even try
to guess what yours is by examining your email address.

=============================================================
-- PUBLISHING : SAVING MULTIPLE FTP SITES IN PREFERENCES ----
=============================================================

You can enter multiple sites by simply entering a new site name,
user information, password and click OK.

-- Selecting the Entries --
To select the different sites, you can click on the pull-down
button next to the SITE name field and it will list all the ftp sites
you have entered.
Once you select a site, the username, password, and other fields
will fill in automatically to what you had them at before for that
site. Any further changes you make will be saved once you hit OK in
the settings.

-- Adding a New Entry --
If the site name field currently has something entered already (such as
a previously selected ftp site) just begin typing over it and enter
all the new information and then click OK. This will enter a new site into
the preferences file as long as the site name is a new one.

Likewise, to change any fields on an already existing entry, just select the
entry from the pulldown, modify the fields such as the password, username, or
directory, and then click OK. This will update the entry.

============================================================
= HOW COME I CAN'T PREVIEW .JPGs, BUT I CAN PREVIEW .GIFs? =
============================================================
This is a feature that will be updated in the next version.
Currently, you can only preview GIF files in WebDummy!. If you
need to preview other image types, you can use the Windows Explorer
to see them.
