It is often that your screen turns off while you are playing long medias such as VideoCD or DVD.
KillStandby can prevent that.
KillStandby has two programs. One is called KillStandby.Exe, which is a GUI program allow you to create a shortcut on your desktop for a program. The RunIt.exe is the actual runner. As long as your program is running, RunIt stays in memory and keeps your screen on. If your program stops, RunIt gets out of your memory immediately. All the processes are hidden from you and fully automatic.
If you lose RunIt.exe, you can still run your program in a similar way by running your program with KillStandby only. The only difference is that while your program is running, you see KillStandby is running. You quit your program, KillStandby quits automatically.
These programs do not work under Win95 because they use a new Windows API functions appearing in Win98 or later version.
You do not need to install these programs. Just extract them into any directory you like and run KillStandby, after you create your shortcut, you do not need to see these programs any more. You can create multiple shortcuts and run them simultaneously.
These programs are absolutely free to use and distribute.
