Purpose

The typing-help supports typing of text in Microsoft Word 2000.
If repeatedly used longer words will appear after typing of few characters
in the QuickInfo. They can be inserted in the document via pressing the
ENTER-key.
During longer writing periods always the newest words will be included in
the help function (an internal word list). If a certain limit is reached
the oldest words will be removed from the list. The capacity of the main-
tained word list is 30 words (L-version) resp. 50 words (full version).
In the full version the word list is conserved between typing-help
sessions.

Requirements

Word 2000 under Windows 95, 98 or Windows 2000 (Windows Me not tested)

Installation

The typing-help(L) is distributed as an VisualBasic-Setup-Package.
For installation run the Setup.exe. During Setup the following components
will be installed:

typinghlp(L).ocx Windows-Systemfolder
typinghelp(L).dot Programfolder in folder typinghelp(L)
typinghelp(L)Setup.doc Programfolder in folder typinghelp(L)
Readme.txt Programfolder in folder typinghelp(L)
Vb6skit.dll Windows-Systemfolder

Then open the typinghelp(L)Setup.doc in Word and run the macro "setup of
typing-help" (under option "typing-help setup" in the main menu).
You can decide whether to use the program only in the active document or in
all documents of the current Word session. In the first case the typing-help
menu becomes attached to the document so that it is always available. In the
second case the program has to be included separately in every new Word
session.
In the menu bar appears the additional entry "typing".

Explanation of the components
The typinghlp(L).ocx is an ActiveX control and contains the main functionality
of the program. The typinghelp(L).dot is a Word template where the word list (as
Autotext) is maintained. The typinghelp(L)Setup.doc serves as installation help
for the program in the Word environment.
The file Vb6skit.dll is only required for creation of the Setup-Package but
not for running of the typing-help(L); therefore it can be deleted.

Deinstallation

via Control Panel: Add/Remove Programs
Note: If the template typinghelp(L).dot is already in the Word-Templatefolder,
then it must be removed manually from this folder.

Use

The typing-help(L) should be installed the first time with the Setup-document
typinghelp(L)Setup.doc (execute the macro setup of typing-help(L)); later
you can do this as well. Further you can create a new document with the template
typinghelp(L).dot attached (File\New ...(1)); or you can include the template
(via Templates and Addins -> Add (1)).
  In the sub menu of "typing" you can start and stop the typing-help(L);
also you can show or delete the Autotext.
Full version: At first you can decide whether to use the existing Autotext in
typinghelp.dot or to delete it. It is possible to look over the Autotext
before deciding.
At changing the document the typing-help(L) breaks and at return it becomes
activ again.
You can stop the program manually or it terminates at closure of the
document in which it was started.

Restrictions

Insertion of a wrong word.
If you press ENTER in order to accept a suggested word (via QuickInfo) and if
the typing-help(L) performs at the same time a document scan then a wrong word
can be inserted in the document.

Troubleshooting

No. 1
Message: File typinghlp(L).ocx not found in Windows-Systemfolder!
Remedy: Copy file typinghlp(L).ocx to Windows-Systemfolder; then register it
via Startmenu (Start\Run): regsvr32.exe
C:\Windows\System\typinghlp(L).ocx (Windows 95, 98) resp.
regsvr32.exe C:\WINNT\system32\typinghlp(L).ocx (Windows 2000))

No. 2
Message: Template typinghelp(L).dot not found!
Remedy: Copy file typinghelp(L).dot to Word-Templatefolder; then execute the
macro setup of typing-help(L) again

No. 3
Message: During Creation of document happened an error!
Remedy: Try to create a new document with typinghelp(L).dot as attached template
(via menu File\New).

No. 4
Message: Template ...\typinghelp(L).dot could not be included!
Remedy: Try to include the template manually via Extras\Templates and Addins (1)
-> in section "Global templates and addins" (1) add the file typinghelp(L).dot

No. 5
Message: In template typinghelp(L).dot no valid link to the control
typinghlp(L).ocx has been created!
Remedy: Perhaps there exists already a template copy in the Word template folder.
If so remove it and run the macro "Setup of typing-help" again.
  Else: Open typinghelp(L).dot in Word; go into the VisualBasic-IDE (Alt+F11);
look via Extras\Links (1) whether there is an entry "typinghelp(L)" and whether
it is activated; if yes then deactivate it, leave the dialog and save the
template; close Word and start it again; run the macro Setup of typing-help(L)
again or set the link manually: for the latter open file typinghelp(L).dot in
Word; go into the VisualBasic-IDE (Alt+F11); look via Extras\Links -> "Search"
(1) whether there is the file typinghlp(L).ocx in the Windows-Systemfolder (as
file type choose "ActiveX-Controls(*.ocx)"); leave the dialog and save the
template

General:
Message: The Macro was not found or has been deactivated because of your macro
security options (1)
Remedy: under Extras\Macro\security - registercard "security level" (1) choose
middle or low level, close Word and start it again

Message: Macro storage could not be opened (1)
Remedy: Copy the ActiveX-Control typinghlp(L).ocx to the Windows-Systemfolder
if not present there or renew the control registration (see under problem no.
1). After this it may be necessary to renew the link to the control in template
typinghelp(L).dot (see under problem no. 5).
