Howdy All,

Tandy 1000 users should check the TRS80PRO forum (DL5) on Compuserve where
they should be able to find a patch which will allow MINIX to run on the T1k.
The patch is provided by Joe Applegate, Sysop at M.O.M. AI BBS in Colorado.

I checked with Prentice-Hall Canada and the book outlining the MINIX rewrite
of UNIX for the PC,XT or AT will be available here in February 1987. (For
those who are encountering mention of MINIX for the first time, see the file
MINIX.ARC, or previous Tech Netmail from me for details). The card to send
out for the MINIX software is included with the book.
In Canada:
TITLE: Operating Systems - Design and Implementation
AUTHOR: Andrew S.Tanenbaum
ISBN: 0-13-637406-9
COST: $51.75 (Cdn. plus $1.50 to have it mailed to you)
(as noted in the message taken from USENET this does not
include the software which is extra)
Cheque/M.O. to:
                 Order Department
                 Prentice-Hall Canada Inc.
                 1870 Birchmount Rd.
                 Scarborough, Ont.
                 M1P 2J7
For info: 416-293-3621

I have no knowledge of the availability of the book or software in the U.S.
but details should be available from Prentice-Hall.
If anyone has access to USENET perhaps they could obtain additional
information to post here and in Tech Netmail.

Discussion of MINIX is taking place in:
