This document describes the installation of the DiskOnChip 2000 under Windows 95.

(a) M-System warrants that the Licensed Software - prior to modification
    and adaptation by Licensee - will conform to the documentation provided
    by M-Systems. M-Systems does not warrant that the Licensed Software will
    meet the needs of the Licensee or of any particular customer of Licensee,
    nor does it make any representations whatsoever about Licensed Software
    that has been modified or adapted by Licensee.

(b) Subsection (a) above sets forth Licensee's sole and exclusive remedies
    with regard to the Licensed Software.

    M-SYSTEMS MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT 
    TO THE LICENSED SOFTWARE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY WARRANTY OF

	     in life support systems or other applications where failure
	     could cause injury or loss of life, the Licensed Software
	     should only be incorporated in systems designed with appropriate
	     and sufficient redundancy or back-up features.

	1. Introduction.
	----------------

M-Systems DiskOnChip 2000 is a new generation of high performance
single-chip flash disk. It has built-in firmware containing TFFS (True Flash
File System) technology, which provides full read/write hard disk emulation
and allows the DiskOnChip 2000 to serve as a boot device for various Operating
Systems, including Windows 95. The DiskOnChip 2000 could be installed in Windows 95 
as an additional disk or as the boot device. 




	2. Installing DiskOnChip 2000 software.
	------------------------------------------

The compressed file docvxd.zip on the DiskOnChip 2000 distribution diskette
contains the following files:

      docvxd.pdr        DiskOnChip 2000 device driver for Windows 95.

      DOC2000.inf       DiskOnChip 2000 device description file.


DiskOnChip2000 protected mode driver for Windows 95 installation guide
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This section describes how to install the DiskOnChip2000 (DOC2000 for further reference)
device driver for Windows 95 and make it be the boot drive.


2.1. To install DOC2000 device driver, perform the following steps:

  2.1.1.  Shut down your computer.
  2.1.2.  Insert DOC2000 device into its socket in your system.
  2.1.3.  Boot the computer.
  2.1.4.  Start Windows 95.
  2.1.5.  Choose the icon My Computer.
  2.1.6.  Choose the icon Control Panel.
  2.1.7.  Choose Add New Hardware.
  2.1.8.  When Windows asks you to search for new hardware, choose No and press Next.
  2.1.9.  In the opening list, choose Hard disk controllers and press Next.
  2.1.10. Press Have Disk.
  2.1.11. Select disk that contains the DOC2000 device driver.
  2.1.12. Select the file named DOC2000.inf.
  2.1.13. Select DOC2000 from the models list. Press Next.
  2.1.14. In the opening dialog, select Finish.
  2.1.15. Windows 95 will install the new device. This process may take several minutes.
  2.1.16. When Windows 95 asks You to reboot the computer select Yes. 


2.2. Making DOC2000 bootable for Windows 95.

  2.2.1  Install Windows 95 on DiskOnChip2000 as described in the document
         Using the DiskOnChip2000 with Windows 95 AP-DOC-019.
  2.2.2  Perform steps 2.1.5 - 2.1.16.
  





	3. DiskOnChip 2000 utilities.
	--------------------------------

3.1. All standard DiskOnChip 2000 utilities are available under Windows 95.
     For more information, refer to the DiskOnChip 2000 for DOS utilities description. 
3.2. It is strongly recommended to run these utilities only from DOS.
     



	4. Uninstall DiskOnChip 2000.

This section describes how to remove the DiskOnChip 2000 device driver for Windows 95 
from the system.

To remove previously installed DiskOnChip 2000 device driver, perform the following steps:

4.1. Choose the icon My Computer from the desktop.
4.2. Choose the icon Control Panel.
4.3. Choose the icon System.
4.4. Choose Device Manager from the System properties sheet. 
4.5. Choose Hard Disk Controllers
4.6. Under Hard Disk Controllers, choose the DiskOnChip 2000 device.
4.7. Press the "Remove" button.
4.8. In opening dialog select OK.


	5. Notes.
	-----------------------------
5.1 When starting Windows 95 from DiskOnChip 2000 it will take a bit more time then from 
    a regular hard drive. 
5.2 When Shutting down the computer booted from DiskOnChip 2000 the system will be halted 
    on "Clouded Skies" or "Blue error message" screen. It is OK.
