OS/2 Support Disk for PCD-4ND
Version 2.0
(c) Siemens Nixdorf AG Germany
-------------------------------------------------------------------

System Requirements:
	PCD-4ND
	OS/2 Warp or Warp Connect
	Mono or STN or TFT panel
	OS/2 - DOS support must be installed

Installation:
	Type "a:Install c"
	If c: is not your OS/2 bootdrive use the letter of
	your bootdrive.
              Make sure the disk is not write protected.

Attention:
              Do not use the OS/2 installation utility manually,
              because some files needed by the video driver are
              only supplied on this disk (SVGADATA.PMI). The
              driver must take use of the SGADATA.PMI file on this
              disk, otherwise it will not work probably.

Solved Problems in Version 1.0:
    * LCD jittering in OS/2 fullscreen session on some TFT LCD's.
    * LCD jittering in DOS fullscreen session can be solved with ERGO4NX.
      ( ERGO4NX is also on this disk. )
    * Error on DSTN LCD's is fixed. The picture was split into two pieces.
    * The drivers on this disk support higher refresh rates.
      In mode 640x480 are 75Hz available.
      In mode 800x768 are 72Hz available.

Solved Problems in Version 1.1:
    * Very Slow Performance in mode 640x480 and 256 colors.
    * Loosing of pixel in StandBy mode when using a STDN panel.

Solved Problems in Version 1.2:
    * The mouse pointer is lost if you switch from a fullscreen WIN-OS2
      to PM and back to WIN-OS2. The mouse pointer appears again if you
      move it to a window.
    * Very Slow Performance in mode 640x480x256 with Codepage 437,850 on a
      German OS/2 Version.
    * Very Slow Performance in mode 800x600x256 with an open WIN-OS/2 session.
    * System Shutdown hangs after changing Video resolution. The PCI syntax was
      wrong. Many thanks to Mr. Schaumlffel.

The Videodriver has been successfully tested with:
    * PCD-4ND, 8MB, 510MB Harddisk
    * PCD-4ND, 20MB, 810MH Harddisk, Infrared device
    * OS/2 Warp Connect

PCMCIA Support has been successfully tested with:
    * IBM CreditCard Ethernet Adapter
    * Maxtor PCMCIA Hard Drive 105 MB
    * Seiko Epson SRAM Memory Card 128kB

BugList of Video Driver for PCD-4ND
1.) On some TFT-LCD screens the picture in a fullscreen DOS session is bad.
    You can use the program ERGO4ND.EXE on this disk to fix this.
    Simply start the ERGO4NX.EXE in a DOS session, for example in the
    autoexec.bat.
2.) On MONO panel, in the OS/2 fullscreen session you can see a little error at the
    screen bottom.

BugList of PCMCIA driver
1.) Some Intel Flash Cards are not supported.
2.) Mitsubishi SRAM-CARD 512 kB not supported.
3.) Sundisk 20MB not supported.

Greetings:
   I will thank David Scholten from Intelligraphics for his assistance to get the
   Performance bug fixed.
