What This Diskette Does
-----------------------
The Video Features Diskette II for Windows 3.1 drivers:
 - Improve the drawing performance on the display
 - Provide resolution up to 1280x1024 for a CRT monitor
 - Provide various color depths: 256, 64K, or 16M for a CRT monitor

The following models are supported:
   - ThinkPad 560, 560E
   - ThinkPad 760E (see note 1), 760EL (see note 2), 760ED
   - ThinkPad 760XD, 760XL, 765D, 765L

     Notes:
       1. The ThinkPad 760E with an XGA (1024x768) panel is supported.
       2. Machine type 9547-x4G, 9547-x4K or 9547-x4T is supported.

         when the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys are pressed.
 - (Fix) The mouse pointer stops momentarily while running
         BDXPC5.EXE (PC/3270 IWS) on the Windows background.
 - (Fix) The playback window is corrupted when a 640x480-size
         AVI file is played back with MediaPlayer.
 - (Fix) The overlay window is corrupted when a file is
         played back on the MediaPlayer when the external monitor

 - (Fix) The overlay window shifts when the refresh rate is
         changed with the ThinkPad Features program, while an AVI file
         is played back with MediaPlayer on the CRT.
 - (Fix) The computer stops when an AVI file is played back on
         the MediaPlayer with a CRT that is set to 1280x1024
         resolution with 256 colors.
 - (Fix) The overlay window is distorted or the computer stops,
         when the size of the overlay window is reduced
         while an AVI file is played back on the MediaPlayer.
 - (Fix) The overlay position in the playback window shifts
         when an AVI file is played back on a CRT that is set to
         1024x768 resolution with 64K colors at 43.5Hz interlace.
 - (Fix) A Windows general protection fault occurs when an
         AVI file (video source size is 640x480) is played back
         on the MediaPlayer with 800x600 and 16M colors.
 - (Fix) Pixels shift to the right by a zoom-in operation on
         PaintBrush with 64K or 16M colors.
 - (Fix) A Windows general protection fault occurs when
         TranXit is used.
 - (Fix) The position of the mouse pointer shifts when the
         refresh rate is changed from 75Hz to 60Hz using the ThinkPad
         Features program on the CRT, and the setting is 1024x768 with
         64K colors.
 - (Fix) A Windows general protection fault occurs during
         printing using the 5586-H02 image printer driver.
 - (Fix) The bottom part of the overlay window is not displayed when
         an AVI file is played back on a TV (NTSC and PAL) in underscan
         mode.

         file is played back with the Xing SoftMPEG player on the LCD.
 - (Fix) The overlay position is not adjusted when the refresh rate is
         changed between interlace and noninterlace using the ThinkPad
         Features program, while an AVI file is played back on the CRT.
 - (Fix) (For ThinkPad 560)
         The position of the overlay window shifts to the
         right with 640x480 and 256 colors on the LCD (800x600 TFT and
         DSTN) panel.
 - (Fix) (For ThinkPad 560 TFT model)
         A Windows general protection fault occurs when an
         MPEG file is played back using the Xing SoftMPEG player with
         800x600 and 64K colors.
 - (Fix) The refresh rate is always set to 60Hz on the CRT
         when returning from the DOS full screen to the Windows desktop,
         after the display device is changed from LCD-only to CRT-only.
 - (Fix) The refresh rate is not changed on the CRT when returning
         from the DOS full screen to the Windows desktop, after the
         refresh rate has been changed by the ThinkPad Features program.
 - (Fix) (For ThinkPad 560 DSTN model)
         The screen is corrupted when switching from the DOS
         full screen to the Windows desktop after the display
         device has changed from CRT-only to LCD-only mode on the DOS
         full screen mode of 640x480, 16M colors mode.
 - (Fix) The DOS full screen blacks out when returning
         to the DOS full screen after the display device is
         changed to LCD and the DOS window is moved.
         (This problem occurred for driver Version 1.01.)
 - (Fix) The DOS full screen (VGA mode 00h, 01h, 04h, 05h, or 0Dh)
         does not synchronize on TV (NTSC overscan or underscan mode).
 - (Fix) The DOS full screen (all VGA modes) does not synchronize on
         TV (PAL overscan or underscan mode).
 - (Fix) The Windows desktop screen is distorted momentarily
         when an AVI file is opened on the MediaPlayer with 1024x768,
         64K colors, and 75Hz on the CRT.
 - (Fix) The bottom line and the rightmost line are not displayed
         when the virtual screen is used.
 - (Fix) Pixels are corrupted when the virtual screen is used
         in 16M colors.
 - (Fix) (For ThinkPad 560 DSTN model)
         A hardware cursor is corrupted when the display device is
         switching from CRT-only to LCD-only mode and the resolution
         has been changed.
 - (Fix) An underscore appears at some certain characters after
         switching to the DOS full screen mode.
 - (Fix) Characters are distorted when returning from
         the Windows desktop to the DOS full screen after
         the display mode (VGA) has been reset in the windowed
         DOS full screen.
 - (Fix) (For ThinkPad 560 DSTN model)
         The DOS full screen blacks out during repeated
         switching between the DOS full screen and the Windows desktop
         screen.
 - (Fix) The overlay position shifts when the LCD screen
         expansion is toggled on and off while an AVI file is being
         played back with MediaPlayer.
 - (Fix) The overlay position shifts when returning
         from the DOS full screen to the Windows desktop with
         1024x768/256 colors and 75Hz mode, or 1280x1024/256 colors and
         43.5Hz interlace mode.
 - (Fix) The playback window appears in unusual color when
         an AVI file is opened with a second MediaPlayer while an AVI
         file is played back with the first MediaPlayer in 64K colors.
 - (Fix) The overlay position shifts when the
         display device switches between TV and LCD when LCD screen
         expansion is enabled.
 - (Fix) Characters are distorted in the DOS full screen on switching
         between the DOS full screen and the Windows desktop after
         Alt+Esc is pressed.
 - (Fix) (For ThinkPad 560 DSTN model)
         The overlay position shifts when an AVI file is
         played back with 640x480 and 256 colors on the LCD.
 - (Fix) (For ThinkPad 560 DSTN model)
         Playback is not done with a hardware overlay when an AVI file
         is played back using MediaPlayer with 1024x768 and 256 colors
         or 64K colors on the CRT.
 - (Fix) The LCD screen expansion setting of the Windows desktop is
         not the same as that of the DOS full screen.
 - (Fix) The mouse trail is corrupted in 800x600 resolution
         and 64K colors for a computer with display memory size of 1MB.

 - (Fix) On an LCD, an error message appears when the screen size is
         larger than the LCD panel size.
 - (Fix) A Windows general protection fault occurs when
         the Xing MPEG player is installed.
 - (Fix) The styled underline printing with AmiPro and BJC-400J is
         not correct.
 - (Fix) On 64K color mode, colors of the bitmap in the help file may
         not be correct.

 - (Fix) The pattern in wallpaper with 16M color is not correct.
 - (Fix) Some garbage on screen when switching from the DOS full screen
         (VGA mode 13h) by pressing Alt+Tab.
 - (Fix) Some garbage on screen when switching from the DOS full screen
         (VGA mode 0 or 1) by pressing Alt+Tab.

         with a hardware overlay in 1024x768 64K color 75 Hz
         interlaced mode.
 - (Fix) The overlay window position shifts in 800x600 256/64K/16M
         color mode on TV(PAL) overscan.
 - (Fix) The overlay window position shifts in 640x480 256/64K
         color mode on TV(PAL) underscan.
 - (Fix) A Windows general protection fault occurs when trying to
         print on some applications.
 - (Fix) A Windows general protection fault occurs in
         Win-Install 4.0 in 64K color mode.

 - (Fix) Blackground color is changed to black in 64K color mode
         with some applications.


Installation Guide
------------------
1. Start DOS and go to the Windows directory (usually C:\WINDOWS).
2. Type SETUP in the Windows directory and press Enter.
3. Using the cursor keys, highlight the Display field;
   then press Enter.
4. Select Other (Requires disk ...) in the list.
5. Insert the Video Features Diskette II for Windows 3.1 into the
   diskette drive.
6. Make sure the path is A:\ and press Enter.
7. Select your favorite resolution and color depth;
   then press Enter.
8. Follow the instructions on the screen.
